My main metalsmithing technique is fabrication with an emphasis on piercing. Piercing is cutting designs out in sheet metal, by hand with a jewelers saw. The saw has a blade about the size of a horse hair and can yield a cleaner cut than stamping or etching. The pieces are then all soldered together using silver solder. My work is continuously evolving with life experiences and realizations. I strive to tell a story with each custom piece of jewelry. Focusing on a sense of world community and the similarities of traditional cultures from around the globe. I also do my own lapidary (gemstone polishing) work and incorporate those gemstones in everything from earrings to large bracelets.
