As a Midwest landscape painter, I strive to recreate a time and place that resonates with not only myself but the person viewing the work as well. They tell a story, pulling the viewer into their own experiences. Much of my work is completed in a square format, challenging me to bring depth into the scene. My studio work is mostly created from photo studies and painted on gallery wrapped canvas with the image continuing onto all four edges, thus adding even more dimension. More recently, PleinAir work has added yet another feel to my work. As a detail realist, I need to sacrifice some details to capture that moment as every minute changes the scene.
