I am a relief printmaker that takes inspiration from the wooded lowlands of the Crawfish River in southcentral Wisconsin. Working in woodcut and linocut printmaking I create small, mostly hand pressed editions on archival paper utilizing single block, multiblock and reduction techniques. I have a strong interest in cycles of nature and exploring our connections to it. My work focuses on this connection to nature as a whole through detailed studies and whimsical fantasy illustrations. I enjoy the entire creative process of printmaking from illustrating my ideas in ink, carving out each space and pattern, to working with paper which gives me an ongoing connection to the trees I feel so close to. In sharing my art and light through printmaking, my hope is that I can inspire others to share their light as well, to grow our connections to each other and nature as a whole.
