I make wheel-thrown ceramic wares, with an emphasis on finely made forms and vibrant, layered glazes. My work is often altered to create geometric forms or highly textured surfaces. I also use inlaid glazes to create botanical, geometric, or flowing patterns. I am interested in communicating via stylized representations of nature and in creating a dialogue with the kiln through a deep understanding of the materiality of clays and glazes. I throw with various colored stoneware clays, mix my own glazes, and fire to cone 6.
